Coffee and Papers

We're trying something new this Sunday morning at Nexus. Nexus will be open from 11-1 and there will be coffee and papers available for people. At mid-day a few people will then give some reflections on the news items that they have read that morning.

It's an attempt to build a sense of community in the northern quarter of the city centre, if you're around the city centre on Sunday then drop in to see us.

Side Door, one of our congregations at Opawa Baptist, last Sunday, spread that day's newspapers all over the floor.

They had a cross in the centre and once people had read the papers, they were invited to read out a headline and place it on the cross as a way of interceding.

Worked really well. Could be a useful ritual for you?
