But I must point out that the vacuum of space is not in necessarily cold. In the inner solar system it's going to be quite warm in fact.

I wish I could say that's a weight off my mind, but being realistic I don't think any of us will ever reach outerspace in our lifetimes.

I can see us managing to destroy our planet long before we have the infrastructure to put low to medium income civilians in space in a comericial sense.

Perhaps our best chance of colonising distant worlds and exploring outside our solar system would be to concentrate on transforming our societies from high-carbon-industrial-military-centred economies to zero(or low)-carbon-quasi-industrial-internationaly-intergrated economies.

Only then would we be able to manage our resources to explore the heavens. The only question is, how do you make the change happen?
