Well we did it! Sanctus1 led the main communion service at GB this year, it's probably the only time in my life where i'll lead worship for 15,000 people and it was a fantastic experience. All seemed to go to plan and the service ran smoothly. Love and Joy Gospel choir were stunning and gave the service a real sense of energy, Fuse Factory on the arena stage gave the arena an ambient feel. People from Sanctus led the service well and the whole service felt coherent and lasted 70 minutes.
Thanks to all involved, esp. those who stuffed the 1,000 worship bags - without you it wouldn't have happened!
My highlight was the final song, How Great Thou Art, I felt quite tearful - this huge event that i have been working on for six months or so had come to an end, and it had worked. The crowd seemed to be loving it and i had a real sense of God during the event.

I was at the arena stage for communion. I would have enjoyed it more if I'd had a bit more sleep. I've realised just how used I've got to Sanctus stuff - I expect djing and visuals at all services. My favourite moment was letting go of the balloon - watching ours go up was amazing and then we saw the main stage balloons and it felt like we were all together.
A friend who had been and isn't part of Sanctus said they enjoyed it and it was better than some of the other communion services they'd been to...
I think I'd bet money as this going down in Greenbelt history as
'that year they had the balloons at communion.' Best idea ever.
Although, I was listening to the radio traffic at 8am wondering quite how stressed 'the lady who's come to blow up the balloons' was getting at being told she was half an hour early...

I suspect the person who made the comment has never organised a Greenbelt communion in their life...
Thank you so much for one of the best GB Communions I can remember...We specially loved forging our own mini community with the paper chains..and of course, the balloons. A real Greenbelt moment. I've blogged it here
