not quite the industry standard of sex, drugs and rock'n'roll...

Not quite the usual entertainment industry standard of "sex, drugs and rock'n'roll" but...

" 'God Bless. Practice Safe Sex. Drive a Hybrid if you can.' Words of wisdom from Jessica Alba on the MTV Movie Awards. Spirituality-Sexuality-Ecology--a triumvirate of critical issues for the upcoming generations if you ask me. More than anything, her comments highlight a few things that are part of the fabric of the MTV generation, if you pay attention you'll hear variations and discussions around those three things as often as you will anything else."

So what they're saying really is:

"Sleep around, and drive an expensive car"

Doesn't sound that different to me... I guess the drugs are just assumed these days.

For once in my short life, I was trying not to be too cynical - I do think she has a point! Even though I wouldn't choose Jessica Alba as my generation's spokeswoman!

I guess I can't help being cynical - it's 'cool' in hollywood to pretend to care about the environment (which to them means 'drive a prius' - the current ultimate fashion statement).

What drives a statement like that... the desire to change the world? Or the desire to fit into the hollywood social heirarchy? I reckon the latter. Call me cynical if you like.
