From the site of the guy who was featured in the Guardian's Bubble Project feature:(http://www.guardian.co.uk/arts/features/story/0,11710,1581674,00.html)

PS Anyone got any strong feelings about the paper's new Berliner format? I actually quite like it now...

I don't like it at all. It's smaller but still too big to read on the bus. The front page is just all over the place - it's really untidy to read. They don't always put the big stories on the front - if it's international it still goes on page 40 or wherever.

I used to define myself as a guardian reader - I liked the politics and I liked the reporting style - friendly news. Then when I started commuting I bought the independent as the guardian was unmanageable on public transport. The berliner just hasn't tempted me back.

Obviously I still read the guardian on a saturday due to the fine supplements. But they've even messed about with them - taken away columns that I really liked (funny money... where's funny money?) and put Alexander Chancellor at the front. The only improvement is more Zoe Williams. If the whole paper was Zoe Williams I would be happy.

But it isn't. So I'm not.

I think it's bloody great. I liked it from the off.

The only thing I haven't like about the new "theguardian" is all the fluff they have printed about their new format.

It has got so bad that even when Billy Bragg, Anita Roddick, Ken Loach and a whole bunch of high profile 'Stop The War Coalition' left-wingers offered the paper an exclusive letter to print, the letters' page declined and instead printed reams of praise for their new format and whether or not Doonesbury should return. I think Doonesbury sucks ass and I think the war is probably more important.

Ich bin ein Berliner but not at the expense of hard nooze.

What was your original post about, Laura, I've forgotten...?...

I just looked at some of the stuff on the website and it's amazing! It filled me with joy to see such a clever way of getting people to interact with adverts and posters. It's just so clever.

He also does this weird 3-D alphabet thing which I'm not quite so impressed with...
